-05-  Campus renews Red Hat Linux Subscription

After several months of negotiations, NC State has again joined with UNC-General Administration for another year of Red Hat Enterprise Linux license subscriptions. Although NC State considered renewing its subscription with Red Hat directly, the partnership with UNC-GA provides substantial discounts to our campus and others in the UNC System. NC State's total Red Hat charges this year were lower than the year before, which results in a lower price per license. For example, Red Hat Enterprise Linux WS will cost $13.96 per license, compared to $20.87 per license last year. If you have any questions regarding Red Hat licensing or charges, contact ITD Software Licensing at ITD_Software@ncsu.edu.

For current information about all software licenses managed by ITD, including software titles, licensing information, and details on how to acquire the software, see www.ncsu.edu/it/essentials/software_ncstate/
