Project Project Description
IT Accessibility This project initially focused on federally mandated web and computing lab access requirements for students with disabilities, ITD's IT Accessibility Services now provides a broad range of online tools, training and consulting to further advance the accessibility of administrative and academic software and other electronic resources.
   

ClassTech

Now a full-fledged ITD support and consulting service, ClassTech was first launched as a pilot project to more effectively equip and support classrooms with multimedia technologies.
Layer 8 The Layer 8 project is intended to improve the university's IT investment processes, to enhance the assessment of the return on the total costs of IT investments, and to strengthen the links between IT investments and the university's education, research and outreach mission.
SAS & NC State Initiatives ITD was instumental in efforts that led to NC State's new Data Analytics Education Initiative announced by Chancellor Oblinger and Jim Goodnight, CEO of SAS in July 2006, ITD staff continue to be engaged in this initiative, including the new Institute for Advanced Analytics whichlaunched its Master of Science in Analytics (MSA) in July 2007.
Virtual Computing Lab (VCL) The VCL is the result of a partnership between of the College of Engineering's ITECS and ITD's High Performance Computing. The VCL serves both local and distance students and faculty, providing 24x7 on-demand reservation-based remote access to advanced computing laboratory facilities.
Wireless Build-out The Wireless Nomad Project is an ongoing, comprehensive endeavor to provide the NC State campus community with maximum connectivity to the campus data network using nomadic (wireless) computing devices.
