When enabled, the banner picture editable region displays just above the page title in your ITD template-based page. When you select one of the main topics (red buttons) in the left navigation bar, a picture associated with this topic is displayed in the banner picture region. When you first turn this region on, default template images are used.

Substituting your own images
You can substitute your own images for the default ones, provided that each one:
- is stored in a sub-folder named banner within an images directory in your root directory.
- has a .jpg extension (not.jpeg)
- has both a long and short version. The short version is needed in case you decide to include right navigation in your page. Short and long images are switched automagically via php. To fit on the page properly, sizes must be as follows:
long version - 610 x 75
short version - 450 x 75 - has a name reflecting the folder that the image is to be associated with. For example, if one of the red buttons in your left navigation bar is labeled Topic1, its related Web pages must be stored in a folder named, say, first_topic. Consequently, the images to be displayed when this main topic button is selected must be named first_topic-long.jpg and first_topic-short.jpg.
Turning banner pictures off and on
- In Dreamweaver, open the page where you want to show or hide the branch picture.
- From the Modify menu select TemplateProperties.
- In the Template Properties window that appears, click once on banner_picture.
- To hide this feature, unmark the Show banner_picture checkbox.
- To display the feature, mark the check box .
