NC State’s Information Technology Division (ITD) Systems develops and maintains many campus-wide computing systems and services. Campus-wide support for the university’s activities on the Web are becoming increasingly important as students, faculty and staff find new ways to use the Web to enhance teaching and learning and to provide information and services to local and global audiences. ITD’s Web services group supports most of the university’s Web pages, providing visitors to the NC State web sites with web pages that are delivered quickly and reliably 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Shortened URLs

Many of the University’s colleges and research centers have their own dedicated web sites hosted on ITD web servers. These web sites are hosted on ITD’s high performance Web servers and network-based AFS file system. All ITD web servers are maintained 24 x 7 by our operations staff. The service allows college and department staff to concentrate on developing local applications and web page content.

WRAP
The Web Realm Authentication Protocol (WRAP) system developed by ITD allows Unity/Eos-based authenticated access to web pages delivered by ITD servers. WRAP allows authenticated users access to any WRAP authorized site during the same web browser session. For more information contact webmaster@ncsu.edu.
